Waypoint Plymouth was born out of the love of Tactical Gameplay, and the pursuit of real-world, fun activities. Some of you may remember that we had a Laser Tag Arena back in 2021, but we closed shortly after opening due tragic events at the time, and respect for the people involved.
Well, time has moved on, and new opportunities have arisen, and so we have
taken one or two of them and decided it’s time to reactivate the company – we dabbled in Airsoft, but it was not for us! So instead, we’re going outdoor with Immersive Gaming, based right in the middle of Plymouth City Centre, and around the Barbican and the Hoe. That will make it far, far easier for you all to come and enjoy the experiences we have on offer this time around.
Our inital experience is a family-friendly fantasy adventure which will be coming soon. It uses augmented reality and GPS to bring enchanted worlds to life across Plymouth’s historic streets. You’ll follow guided routes through iconic landmarks like the Barbican and the Hoe, solve gentle puzzles, interact with magical AR characters, and see the sights. It’s a perfect blend of real-world exploration, storytelling, and digital magic – ideal for families, friends, kids (ages 6+), and anyone wanting a fun, light-hearted way to discover (or rediscover) the city.
We aren’t starting yet but when we will it will all be accessible, engaging, and will showcase the core of what we do: turning Plymouth into a living, interactive playground without any physical props – just a provided iPad, your team, and the city’s streets.
But this is just the beginning.
Over the coming months, we’ll expand with a growing lineup of AR experiences, including spy thrillers, cyber mysteries, treasure hunts, and more adult-oriented adventures. Whether you’re after team bonding, stag/hen parties, birthday celebrations, or simply a fresh way to see Plymouth, new games will keep things exciting and varied.
